Paul White，1992年获得英国南安普敦大学声与振动研究所博士学位，现任南安普敦大学声与振动研究所所长，教授。保罗博士的主要研究方向为信号处理，水声学和生物声学，在其领域内取得了较大的成就，发表学术论文350余篇，参与撰写8本著作，担任英国海洋科学协作委员会水下噪声论坛成员和军用水声评估论坛成员。
报告摘要：
The increase in shipping has resulted in an increased in ambient noise in the ocean, in particular, in the low frequency band. This has led to studies considering the impact of shipping noise on marine mammals. To mitigate these impacts commercial pressures are beginning to be applied. One aspect of this is the development of standards for measuring ship noise. Further models predicting shipping noise are being developed.
This seminar will consider the issues around predicting ship noise, modelling its impacts and the current standards for its measurement.
